Recombinant expression, upstream production and downstream purification of your custom protein follow a series of highly complex steps. Multiply this with the diversity and biological complexity of the target molecules, recombinant proteins, and it is obvious that careful planning and project design are important for a successful project!
DIARECT has established all capabilities to go from design and construction of an expression vector through the expression phase to a final, purified protein. All experimental steps and techniques (see our "Service Milestone List") can be flexibly combined or executed alone according to the project's requirement: no project is too large or too small!
The main expression systems at DIARECT are based on baculovirus / insect cells and E.coli bacterial host cells respectively. Routine production in these systems has been scaled up to industrial levels as described in the "Upstream" section of the web site. Development work with other types of host cells is ongoing, and we welcome your enquiries for these systems.
DIARECT is officially permitted to carry out biotechnology and genetic engineering work at the S1 safety level. A project management system (implemented in the context of our ISO9001 quality management system), in-depth consulting and planning of experimental strategies are an integral part of DIARECT's service work.
