Dear Madam or Sir,
Lyme disease is a multisystemic infectious disease caused by Borrelia species.
Inflammatory myopathies are characterized by the presence of inflammatory infiltrates within skeletal muscle. These idiopathic myopathies encompass a variety of both common and uncommon syndromes.
The common subtypes include adult polymyositis (PM) and dermatomyositis (DM), along with inclusion body myositis, childhood myositis, malignancy-associated myositis, and myositis in overlap with another autoimmune connective tissue disease.
To date, autoantibodies targeting eight of the 20 aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases have been identified, being found in up to 30% of sera from patients with myositis.
They are highly specific for this disorder and strongly associated with complicating lung disease.
DIARECT offers a growing range of polymyositis / dermatomyositis antigens, the newest product of which is Asparaginyl-tRNA Synthetase (KS):
The above mentioned antigens are produced in the baculovirus / insect cell expression system and all have a proven track record for quality and sensitivity.
As of October 2013, DIARECT is selling the complete line of Lumigen chemiluminescent substrates including Western Blotting and ELISA substrates as well as the Lumigen HyPerBlu reagent
for the direct detection of hydrogen peroxide.
Lumigens' chemiluminescent reagents are used worldwide in automated systems for the chemiluminescent detection of alkaline phosphatase and horseradish peroxidase conjugates
and in ultrasensitive assays in the fields of life science research and human identity testing.

We are pleased to introduce SurModics StabilZyme® Protein-Free Stabilizer, the newest member of SurModics’ family of Protein Stabilizers and Blockers.
Assays have become increasingly sensitive in recent years. The protein stabilizers most commonly used to stabilize biomolecule activity often contribute
to interference and cross-reactivity leading to less reliable results. SurModics’ new StabilZyme Protein-Free Stabilizer (SZPF) delivers excellent retained activity -
a key performance factor - while eliminating the interference and cross-reactivity associated with protein-based stabilizers.
StabilZyme® Protein-Free Stabilizer
- Stabilize biomolecule activity without protein
- Eliminate unwanted interference and cross-reactivity caused by proteins
- Designed for conjugated protein, antibody-coated particles, and unmodified proteins in solution
Percent retained activity is determined by dividing the absorbance units of the 37°C
accelerated sample by the absorbance units of the 4°C control. Arrhenius accelerated
stability projections for StabilZyme Protein-Free Stabilizer demonstrate approximately 86%
retained activity for greater than 2 years.
