Despite the global economic crisis China's economy has been growing 8.7% in 2009. Recent trends in the Chinese healthcare environment are making China an attractive market opportunity for in vitro diagnostic companies. An increasing number of private and reference laboratories are expanding the market for all kinds of assays. The autoimmune market in China is operated by a mix of international and domestic players.

Recently, the DIARECT team was present at two scientific meetings in China:

The Shanghai 2010 Laboratory Medicine Conference was held in Shanghai October 8 – 10, 2010. Domestic and international speakers introduced new technologies for clinical laboratories and presented and discussed their latest research findings in clinical immunology, microbiology and biochemistry as well as molecular diagnostics.

The 7th CSI Congress of Immunology was held in Beijing October 24 – 26, 2010. Organized by the Chinese Society for Immunology, academicians from the American National Academy of Sciences, academicians from Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering and leading scholars in various fields of immunology gave presentations, particularly covering basic and clinical immunology.
