Art v 1.0101

Artemisia vulgaris (mugwort) is a widespread weed in the mediterranean area. Art v 1, the major allergen of mugwort pollen, is a secreted modular glycoprotein with a N-terminal defensin-like and a C-terminal hydroxyproline-rich domain. It has been shown that reactivity of IgE antibodies is mainly directed to epitopes located in the N-terminal domain.

Phl p 1.0102

Phl p 1.0102 is a member of the beta-expansin family whose members are involved in the modification of the plant cell wall during developmental processes. It is a known allergen found in the pollen of Phleum pratense known allergen. Therefore, it is commonly known as pollen allergen Phl p 1.

Phl p 2.0101

Phl p 2.0101 is a member of group II/III of grass pollen allergens. This protein represents a major allergen of Phleum pratense and is detected exclusively in the pollen and not in other plant tissues. In line with other Phleum pratense allergens, this protein is also named pollen allergen Phl p 2.

Phl p 5.0203

Phl p 5.0203 is a protein found in the starch granules of Phleum pratense pollens that has been suggested to be involved in plant defense mechanism due to its RNAse activity. This protein is a member of the so-called group V allergens.

Phl p 6.0101

Like other Phleum pratense allergens, Phl p 6.0101 has been reported to be exclusively detected in the pollen where it localizes with polysaccharide-containing wall precursor bodies, the so-called P-particles.  Based on its localization, this protein is also known as pollen allergen Phl p 6.

Phl p 7.0101

Phl p 7.0101 is a minor, non-glycosylated, allergen of timothy grass pollen, recognizing serum IgE antibodies of grass pollen-sensitized individuals. It is a Ca2+-binding protein with high sequence homology to pollen proteins found in a number of other plants, therefore likely to cross-react with those.

Phl p 12.0101

Like all profilins, minor grass pollen allergen Phl p 12.0101 is involved in cytoskeleton dynamics by binding to actin. Immunological cross-reactivity regarding IgE binding, among pollen profilins and profilins of plant-derived foods, is well known.
